About Training at NDA
NDA (National Defense Academy) is a training institution / academy, where academic, physical & basic military training for all three services (Indian Army, Navy & Air Force) is imparted.
At NDA, trainees / cadets are taught science, technology, arts and military subjects. The three-year course is split into six terms. The regimen also consists of physical conditioning which includes drill, swimming, horse riding, full gamut of games and adventure activities. In three years at the Academy, you are transformed from a Cadet to a person who is fit to become an Officer.
All the cadets, as per eligibility, on successful completion of Academics, Physical & Service training at NDA are awarded B.Sc. or B.Sc. (Computers) or B.A, as per eligibility, from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. Eligible Cadets of flying branch and Ground Duty Tech Entry/Stream of Air Force are awarded B.Tech degree after completion of requisite training.
What Happens After NDA Training?
On successful completion of the three-year course, Army cadets proceed to Indian Military Academy at Dehradun, Naval cadets to Indian Naval Academy at Ezhimala and Air Force cadets to the Air Force Academy at Hyderabad. (Air Force Cadets of Ground Duty Tech Stream go to Air Force Technical College, Bangalore).
After completion of 1 year of training at the respective academies (IMA / INA), cadets are commissioned as “Officers” into respective services (Indian Army / Indian Navy).
Flying Branch Cadets of Air Force receive flying training for a period of 1½ years. However, at the end of 1 year of training they are given provisional Commission in the rank of Flying Officer. After successful completion of further training of 6 months, they are absorbed as Permanent Commissioned officers on probation for a period of 1 year.
Ground Duties Branch Cadets of Air Force receive stream wise specialist training for a period of one year. At the end of one year of training they are given provisional commission in the rank of Flying Officer. Subsequently, they are absorbed as Permanent Commissioned officers on probation for a period of 1 year.
Pay and Allowances as an Officer in Indian Army / Navy / Air Force are given in accordance with the laid down rules, which are upgraded from time to time as per government approval.
How to Join NDA?
Candidates who qualify the NDA Exam are called for SSB Tests / Interview at Service Selection Board (SSB) of Indian Army / Navy / Air Force. See information on SSB (Service Selection Board) of Indian Army, Navy & Air Force. Also, candidates who get recommended in SSB Tests / Interview have to undergo medical tests. Only those recommended candidates who are found medically fit, as per the laid down standards for respective services i.e. Indian Army, Navy & Air Force, are considered for merit list. Based on the number of available vacancies and score of candidates in NDA Exam and SSB tests, candidates are selected in the merit list. Those, who make it in the merit list, get call letter for training at NDA / to join NDA (National Defense Academy).
Preparation of NDA Exam & NDA SSB Interview

NDA Coaching in Indore, at Star Angel Coaching is for one year to ensure comprehensive coverage of NDA exam syllabus. Also, support & guidance for NDA Preparation is given to students till they appear in the NDA exam.
SSB Coaching, in Indore, provided by star Angel Coaching, starts every week. Duration of SSB coaching is 2 weeks. Students are advised to take coaching well before their SSB Tests / Interview dates so that they get adequate time not only to prepare for SSB Interview but also to work upon their areas of improvement.
